Silkie thread!

ah... thanks, id forgotten that i was going to ask about eye sight through the fluff, as other hindrances they might have with excessive fluff on head/face/feet etc. and if that could be why some acting like pet rocks. i know some dogs do fine with hair in face and some actually are helped with sensitive eye from it, so wasnt sure. also what is SQ DQ amd rest abbrev terms? i assume show quality, but rest... fuzzy terms to me.

The only hindrance I've noticed is that they can't see birds of prey coming from above. Because of that we put netting over their pens to keep them safe. Ours go up the ramp fine, do like to play in the rain, but that's ok. They do go in their coops at dark except the occasional newly integrated "teenager" who will need to be put in a few times before getting it. We make sure that all of our chickens (silkies, dorkings, orpingtons & ameraucanas) are safely locked in their coops at night. I do show, so I don't trim them at all.

SQ= show quality
DQ= disqualification
PQ= pet quality
BQ= breeder quality

Hope this helped!

Are you trying to decide if you want silkies?

???

You may have to wait till they start to feather out. Hard to tell splash from lav sometimes.
Are the splash split to lav, from BBS breeding or splash to splash breeding?
