Thanks! I have so many more birds that totally deserve a photo shoot just got to drag my butt outside and starting clicking away again. I can't claim any of these guys as my own hard work though since I didn't breed them myself but hopefully next year I can brag a bit

Hi Colie,
Is PotPie a roo? I have a 10 week old the exact same color and he/she is starting to get that same comb (?) on his beak. I am assuming roo??

thanks!

Yes Potpie is definitely a boy

In comparison to the others his same age he was pretty easy to spot. At 10 weeks I have some that had the same comb size as the boys but ended up girls so I wouldn't assume yours is a boy unless the comb is pretty large like PotPie's is right now. Check for wattles those are usually a good indicator in my experience around the 3 month mark

Keep them out of the rain (completely) or it may cost you dearly!!!

I live in Syracuse. It's rained here for most of the last 6 weeks. All my silkies are alive & well.

You can get them get wet AND feed them after midnight, too!

You are the first person to bring this to my attention, but I believe you 100%. I hatched out five chicks about a week ago from eggs I didn't sell and all have white wing feathers growing out except for one. I'm guessing it's going to be black. I do have the one half black half cuckoo hen in with the rooster so there is a 25% chance that black chicks will hatch. Did you not get any cuckoo colored chicks?

I bought some eggs from you in march my chicks are now 5 weeks old and are NOT cuckoo silkie chicks. They are black chicks with no sign of cuckoo on them.

Pics of them I took last night

Could you explain why they are not cuckoo chicks when I bought eggs from you AS cuckoo silkie eggs?
