Silkie thread!

That's what I was thinking! I wouldn't chance it.

It wouldn't happen for me because of my cats personalities.

One cat is terrified of chicks. I tried to 'show' Bonzai, my 14 lb Manx, a three or four day old chick several years ago. He went to sniff her head and she gave him her best peck on the nose. He now will give any cage with chickens of any size a minimum three feet of buffer zone.

Peek-a-boo likes chicks a little too much. She would sit and watch them with me and every so often she would try and reach into the cage and tap one. I would say her name in less than happy tones and she would slowly retract her paw and just watch again. Stinker.

My mixed 'tuxedo' bobtailed cat Butler loves to be in the chicken pen, and he loves the chickens. He likes to sample chicken scraps, and tries to rub against my wyandottes. But alas, my wyandottes don't like him and run away from him/occasionally peck him on the nose. But that doesn't stop him from his daily chicken visits lol.

Thank you! I have no idea what "type" of silkie he is.... (We were talked into getting him because he was the last one the store had!) I can't wait for him to get all his fluffy feathers on his head in! Seems to be taking FOREVER! (he is 3 months and 3 weeks old... I might just be impatient!)
Check out the Sizzle thread, I believe that's what he is. Neat looking bird :)

I just read the talk about the lavender partridges.

Here's my two.

Micah is from Catdance lines, and Chloe is from Bobbi Porto lines.
I believe Bobbi also told me Chloe would be a lavender partridge.

We're expecting babies this Monday!
Chloe *should* be the mom, since my other girl has been molting.

My boy from Catdance looks soooo much like Micah. I hope to get a good photo soon. Micah has a much nicer comb though! My boy's is huge!!

I would have been afraid he'd snatch that chick up and eat it.

My cats are really good about these things. I would never trust them unsupervised but as long as I am in the room, they behave theirselves, no problem.

I had one of the farms guinea pigs in the house for a while getting better from a upper respiratory infection and the cats used to go sit in the cage with her. lol

That is freaking adorable!

Our blue heeler watches over the chickens..... but she is still young, so I don't fully trust her around the animals all the time because she gets so excited.... But our beagle is AMAZING with just about any animal we bring home. She plays with our ferrets, she lets our green cheeked conure ride her.... and she SNUGGLES with the chickens. Seriously. We've had lizards that she didn't bother, kittens....

Except for the kittens, she was never left ALONE with the animals, but she has never harmed them. And we have come home to her snuggling with a hen that escaped their pen and couldn't figure out how to get back IN....

Here is one of my chicks ~ Mohawk
Can anyone tell me if it is a girl or a boy? Also, can you tell me if it has some good qualities?

SORRY THE RED TINTED FEATHERS ON IT'S FEET ARE FROM OUR GEORGIA CLAY, LOL
