Silkie thread!

Quote: I know of that happening a number of times. I forgot that I had a bird missing a toe once and showed him. I felt really bad when I remembered. But I have gotten pretty upset with people who knew (and said so) the bird had the wrong number of toes and were ecstatic that the judge missed it; IMO, that is WRONG. Mistakes...everyone makes them; deliberate choices...well it was a CHOICE.

Question, don't shoot me though

Can I pluck any stiff tail feathers on my pullets? I have one pullet with a couple in her tail. Would a judge notice? Their tails are so fluffy anyway I would think it would hide the missing feathers.

Not sure what you mean? I do not know why some birds have the three lobed crests and others ones that are more round. It would make a good study for someone who has the time to poll and consolidate data.

Whelp, I have the next month off from work and it would probably make a good study to start before I dive completely into school work...

Would you seasoned breeders use bonnet birds in your breeding programs? And, does my Thelma (5m/o) have bonnet?

(Thelma is the silkie, LFB is my SG roo, this was taken while they were in lock down after I got them)

If a photo is needed, I should be able to get one tomorrow.
