I'd love to see him!!
I have a few polish myself, and am getting a really nice rooster next weekend.

I have 1 buff laced, one black and this rooster is a white crested black - show lines - and has been shown, but is getting older.
Yes show pics here...ChickNherps!! I Love the polish and I have been looking for the Silver Laced. No one around me has them and when I went to a sell/trade show all peeps had was white crested. Although those are pretty I love the Laced!!!!!

Not partridge. See the silver hackles? Partridge have gold or red hackles.
Sonoran ~ When this egg came to me from Catdance it was marked PA. When it hatched it was your typical light chipmunk coloring. I wondered about it as it started to get bigger and change colors and especially develop that gray/silver coloring in it's hackles.

What about silver partridge or gray, what would it be considered? I am curious because I have two that I call silver partridge but they were hatched from eggs that came from a project paint pen. (They both had the chipmunk colored markings as chicks.) One of them is my avatar.
So, did you get yours from Catdance too? She didn't say the partridge eggs were from a project pen, only my lavender was from a project pen. How were your eggs marked? It's very interested for sure and this chick is so beautiful and really developing into a beauty I think.

I would call that silver partridge before grey, but that's me

So, are silver partridges considered an acceptable color? Are they a "new" color?

That's why I am asking, because I don't know. I have been calling mine silver partridge, but I have seen others that use them (gray and silver partridge) synonymously, is that incorrect?
I did read something about the standard for grays and it was so complicated and detailed that I just figured I'll never have one, LOL.

he looks SO much better out of the coop.

Does anyone use frontline for lice and crest mites? If so, what is the proper way it should be applied and possible side effects. We are not really interested in eating the eggs at this time, we are more interested in hatching some chicks. Does it work for killing the mites and prevention? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure where I read it and it has been a while ago but, the article I read was saying not to use frontline on your chickens are it was bad for them. Personally if there is a natural way I would choose that first. Even if you aren't eating the eggs do you really want to put those chemicals into their systems? I would maybe google natural remedies for lice and mites and see what comes up. I haven't had this happen to me yet so I probably should be prepared myself and do some research too, haha.

Have you tried using wood ash before resorting to chemicals? Wood ash can really kill those parasites. I just treated some bantam Ameraucanas, and rechecked after 2 weeks. Not a single mite to be found!

When you say wood ash are you talking about the ash that is left from a wood fire? And if so, you would only want to use the ash from non-treated wood right?

This is my Ruby!!!!!*She is not dead she is just laying on her back* *And the thing I am holding is a comb not a knife LOL*
I wondered if anyone else used a comb on their silkies, haha I have taken a men's comb and used it on my Roo because he just doesn't seem to groom himself that well. It looks like Ruby is enjoying her combing.
