fingers crossed they are all at least silkied.

That's a GREAT hatch!!!! 6 out of 9 eggs is an awesome hatch for shipped eggs

But all Black that stinks

Some have gotten all Lavenders and some all Blacks it's a 50/50 roll of the dice for each egg.

But ALL 6 will be silkied since they are from a silkied to silkied pairing.

Congrats!

:fl. Here's hoping more hatch!

I'm going into lockdown tomorrow. I tossed 2 clears on Friday, still have twelve left in the BATOR (plus one under Bertha the Broody)

Ok, when I posted this yesterday, that was the smiley that was crossing his fingers--and showed up in the posted post as the correct smiley. Overnight it turned into the tongue-wagging smiley....how did that happen? I DID NOT EDIT IT!!! Talk about changing the tone of your post!

Just thought that I would chime in since folks were talking about where had all the project people gone. I am here in Oregon. I had split birds from Renee' and got some split and silkied from a local lady that was no longer interested in the project(her birds were from Alice fell down). I have both splash silkied and splits here, along with blue splits and black Ams. I have just been quietly working on the project for about 4 years. I dont get on BYC much anymore, but do get emails with updates to the list and have been keeping up on reading everyone's comments on this list. Plan on hatching splits from my only silkied boy and the black girls, may hatch a few silkieds too!

Just moved a couple hatches out to a grow out pen. Can finally see how they are coming along. Stacking brooders are great for housing a quantity of chicks - but not so great for actually seeing them.

Sooooo

became this

look at the chocolate coloring of this split!!!!!!

and a mauve silkied.

There's a couple more silkied splash (think one is mauve splash), a black silkied and a couple more mauve splits - more in the brooder and more hatching yet.
Looking GOOD for next season on these guys! Has taken years but we haz arrived on the doorstep!!!!!!
Need to do a lot of outcrossing to straight CatKai line silkieds and hard feather Ams then bring choc pullets and choc split cockerels back together.
The generation after that - breeding pens of all choc/mauve silkieds!
Just two more years - then fine tuning ...... Whoot!
