Silkied D’Uccles Project

How are all of the baby beauties doing @Egg Snatcher?
I’m not home right know. They were good when I left. I’ll get y’all some update pics when I get home this weekend!

There are two silkied chicks out of the 2 clutches (1 from each) I’m going to sale all the non silkied ones when I return home. Then rebreed the parents again once the F1 hen quits being broody and lays again.

Here’s the update!

Here are the two that I’m keeping

I’ll get some pics of the parents of these chicks and the grandparents tomorrow. I’m also going to pull the F1 hen off her chicks and co-brooder so I can break her from being broody.

:thumbsupLooking good! Curious to see how they develop.

rebreeding the f1 s is a good call. The 2 silkied chicks you got don’t seem to have good foot feathering, while some of their siblings do, & rebreeding the f1 s nets you thé chance of a silkied without the extra silkie traits the cross brought along, however small.

Really enjoy all your projects!

Thanks! I also don’t know if they’ll be mottled either so I thought I’d breed them again.
