I was thinking splash too, but the second picture looks very different, like there are more blue feathers. It could just be a blue splotch that spread, making it looks bigger or something though.

I have a buff partridge roaster who mated with my solid black hen. Any idea of what colour the chicks will be. Which colour is dominant? She is technically a paint carrier, so will the chicks carry the paints t gene?

My roaster just turned a year old and has become very aggressive with, jumping at me crowing his head off and repeatedly breeding the girls throughout the day. Is this normal?

Bump! Does anybody know which colour is dominant, buff or black? I have a feeling it is black, but would love to hear from those wild silkie breeders who have mixed colours.
