Now a question for anyone that can answer. @Hinotori I'm sure can say. When I crossed The Splash Rooster and the F1 Silkie BBO girl I got two near silver babies. Last to hatch came from an F1 egg and is smaller than the first but with the tiny silkie pom pom..

She carries blue? Those look like they may be splash chicks.

King Arthur there looks like he is a partridge mix color. I've had similar when crossing black into partridge.

So if the hen carries blue, there is a chance for blue popping up in in the offspring. I'd say you'd get shades of partridge to ones that look like the father.

I know buff to partridge makes for a light colored almost partridge offspring.

Biggest problem is if you know what recessive genes might be hiding. Those won't show up unless both carry it though. The incomplete dominant ones like blue do show, but blue is evil and can be dark enough to just look black.

The f1 Buff pullet is a daughter of my partridge Roo and a Bantam Buff Orpington. Would she have gotten a blue gene from him?

and she was bred to a Splash, hence blue or splash babies. Buff is a diluted Red from what I understand, and Red comes from Black. I need to go to genetics schools!

He could be blue there. The wing primary that I think I can see does look blue. As I said blue can be dark and the gene only affects the black parts.
