I've missed this thread and I've been catching up on all the beautiful chicks and Silkies! @Hinotori, your dog is beautiful, what breed is it!

He's a mini Australian shepherd. He's always had a good amount of herding instinct. I've been training him to help herd the chickens into their pens when I want. He does not like chickens out of their pens at all.

Only the silkies have any tolerance for him as they come into a lot of contact when we rat hunt. He ignores them now in their courtyard unless I tell him to help me pen them. The large fowl think he's satan and run if they see him still. They won't leave their pen when he's around which is good as we still have a bird flu risk so they aren't allowed to feee range.

It's a curious thing... not a single one of the blue pullets from Poof Poof and Shadow Captain (Calico Splash) have any red leakage at all, while Little Boy Blue has.. Is that sex related?

Red leakage is normally a male trait

Finally got a decent shot of Dark Rose.. Look at that beard! And she has some red around the neck feathers, supposedly from BSL in the background.

Yup and I cracked it open to see if the little light partridge boy was 'doin' his thang'.. Yup fertile as could be! Smooching behind my back they are.

She wasn't impressed with me making her pose so she laid down and refused to move. She needs a bath. Her crest is mostly dry at least, just not in it's normal shape.
