Do most who get the red leakage are cockerels? I have no pullets with the red, unless this one is!I'm no help, I can see why that one is confusing you! The comb and red on the wings seems more cockerel like. The body kind of looks more pullet like to me (though it is still early to be judging body type too much). I know you have some girls that get large combs for females so I'm on the fence with this one. She/he sure is pretty though!![]()
I'll just have to wait and see then, hopefully a pullet! ..otherwise a very small size boy, feet are even small.. but wattles coming in already thoughI agree, tricky this one is! Beautiful bird.
I am getting a girl vibe from the photos, but agree the comb and red on the shoulders look more boyish. Best I can do!![]()
Usually they clean themselves up in a dry dustbath so I haven't needed to bath them... Although some of the younger ones were dustbathing in the wet dirtNo guessed on the gender, I struggle without streamers and create as a guide. But how are you going to clean those muddy crests up? Mine are the same and I can't take pictures to advertise my business because of that.

No they don’t! I think I took like 40 photos and those were the only ones that weren’t blurry!Oohhhwwwcute little fluffies! Do they stand still for long enough to take pics!?

Does anyone know how to breed it out of roos? My white roo has it pretty bad. I wanted to use him for paint breeding buuuut he has bad red leakage. I know for a fact that he came from paint breeding so he has the proper genes just that leakage. All mine with red leakage in the wings have been boys. I've seen a couple pictures with girls with red leakage though they had it in other places too besides the wings and crest. I think it's a lot more common for the boys to have it more concentrated in the wings but I'm not positive.![]()
Really? Mine never seen to clean up right, and I have never taken a silkie over a year old to the fair because of it!Usually they clean themselves up in a dry dustbath so I haven't needed to bath them... Although some of the younger ones were dustbathing in the wet dirtsilly little fluffies
