A little slow this morning, 6 AM here and coffee is still brewing.
My "lavender hatching eggs" from the same place I believe, were actually all splash, though they were lovely birds.

It's business and I get it now.
I should have done my research.
I do want some show quality Silkies, we are ready.

There is a breeder I tried to get eggs from a few years ago. They have many show champions. Unfortunately it was too difficult for her to go through the whole permit process for Hawaii. The breeder was though lovely to work with and very kind. Difficult to promise show quality in a chick or egg, but if they come from show quality stock, chances are better. They may even have older birds available, you never know.

An older bird would be okay. I am not going to be a breeder/seller. If they had chicks, so be it. But I just want some showy quality. I just LOVE the big top puffs. Irresistible

Check out Alabama Silkies. They sell hatching eggs. Some of my birds came from there. They usually have chicks, too..

Personally I wouldn't order from Alabama Silkies. I've had two batches of eggs from them, incubated them myself, and I did not get my moneys worth. The eggs I got were all pretty much infertilized. They have so many reviews on their site saying so many of their chicks hatched but it didn't work for me. And I know I did everything right during the incubation process. Of the ones I got, they are pretty and I love em to death, I just won't order from them again. Just wanted to give you a heads up before you ordered.

I actually had pretty good customer service from them and 14 out of 16 (15 went to lockdown) hatched coming all the way to Hawaii. Haven’t had as good a hatch rate with shipped eggs since! This was a few years ago though. I did end up with a satin and also a male with a single comb but overall the birds were high-quality.

Yes black silkie hens can have gold leakage around the collar area much like a black copper Marans. If there’s gold over the wing bows then this is usually a sign of a Cockerel. Do you have a photo?

How old is it? Post a good clear side view photo full body as well as a close-up of the head showing the crest from the side and a close-up of the comb with the crest pushed back with one hand.
