My chicks are 2 1/2 weeks old now and I still haven't been able to cure the chick with the weepy eye. It does look a little better. It isn't weeping as much. Here's the latest pic of what it looks like... I'm not sure what else to do.

I just read your post from yesterday:
Still yucky... I went this weekend to TSC to get some Terramycin since it is still on backorder at the feed store. I've used it twice now. Eye is improving but still not normal. There's like a hard brown blob under the eye. Not sure what it is but it hurts the chick to rub on it. I thought it was dried eye goo but it isn't.

On a side note, I brought everyone outside this afternoon for a supervised introduction to the outdoors. They are having a ball.... 😂

And then I saw your todays post with a picture from your little one with the eye issue -

from reading the first post I imagined it much worse and I must say I am positively surprised how much better it actually looks than my imagination emerging from the description (I must state I don't have experiences with eye-issues in chickens but in other animals). To me it looks like the new medicine works well - fingers crossed the issue will dissapear completely soon :fl
Such a cutie :love
...And I loved seeing them all enjoying the sun and being outside for the first time 🥰 ❤️🥰

I've never had anything like that happen with my chicks before....the eye is looking pretty good to me though! I hope the treatment helps clear up the remaining weepiness. I used to foster kittens often and terramycin always worked wonders for the ones who had eye infections so hopefully it'll work for your little cutie! :fl

Yes, it is looking better. I guess I figured it should have improved more quickly but I've only been using the Terramycin since Saturday.

I have wondered if maybe it is a blocked tear duct or something. The chick has had this since it was born.

...but they are having so much FUN 🥰
They are so cute ❤️
Love these little fluffy tail-balls they currently have😊

Oh, they are definitely having a ball... I eventually took the feeder out since a third of it was spread over the floor. I should have put a tarp down first or an old sheet.... And I quickly figured out they could slip through the bars.... Thus all the stuff stacked around the outside! 😂 I had a hard time finding "barriers" to keep them in...

If we don't finish their new coop by Easter, this will become their new brooder since I have more eggs about to hatch! 🤞
