Family photos! Parent and offspring♥️

Aww what cuties! I love the idea to pair parents with their offspring for pictures! ❤️
Update on the three Polkies I have left. I have more Silkies hatching but these are the last of the Polkies. All three of these are full siblings, I suspect they are all female. Interestingly enough they all appear to be beardless, only beardless bird I know of in their genetics is their Polish grandmother. The bearded Polkies sold first!
I’m really liking the one satin feathered I have left, she’s really pretty and I may keep her. Four weeks old today. The other two are three weeks old and two weeks old. So crazy they’re full siblings, they look so different.
The one we are calling Halo is keeping the white fluff on her head so far. She has also developed some interesting brown tips on her wing feathers almost like a Partridge pattern, but she has no Partridge in her background as far as I know.🤷‍♀️
She has silkied feathers as well as the other paint.😊

Adorable! I'm really interested to see if little Halo will grow in some white feathers in her crest, that would be very neat. I've had a few black babies from my paints get a little brown on the tips of their wing feathers while young. Those ones later had less noticeable brown on the wings and looked more black except for they had a fair amount of gold leakage in the hackles (they were boys so maybe with girls it would present differently). I suppose they almost looked gold birchen. I wonder if Halo will also present somewhat like a birchen when older? 🤔
We have a BABY!!! Meet my very first chickens...
first pullet - Vanilli and cockrel - Mango
Their very own little baby chick!!!
Miracle of life no matter what the species is just amazing! God is too wonderful!

Congratulations on the little one! bringing new life into the world really is amazing. 🥰

How many eggs do you think my 9.5 yr old will lay before going broody!? She's up to egg number 2 now .. if she lays 3 eggs a week then I should be able to have her broody around the 11th to hatch eggs for Christmas day!
I so hope her eggs are fertile! She's picky with her men so it's not likely unfortunately I haven't seen the deed done unless its been in secret. I have seen him dance around her. I might have to crack the first egg she laid and see if it's fertile, I don't want to waste her precious eggs though she probably won't lay for much longer as she is quite old!
