So sorry no one is responding on the emergencies thread.☹️
Also so sorry to read about your daughter and family. Having been through something similar myself many years ago, I sympathize.:hugs❤️

I would keep giving the chick nutradrench and the b-complex together. Is the little one with the bad leg eating and drinking on it's own?
Not very much...every now and then it will eat some.
It is completely freaked by me now since I put the vet wrap on legs last night even though I did remove it for the evening.

I've seen this exact thing with a couple babies I've had. The legs are sort of too far forward and they really struggle walking at first and do that pathetic paddling motion with their legs as they try to get up. It isn't splay leg and I haven't found a hobble helps but just getting the legs into the proper position for a bit and helping it to take some steps may help. I've put them in a small container too so the legs couldn't go so far forward for awhile. I think the trick is just getting the legs into position and as that happens more and more they'll start to improve over time. The good news is this only lasted a day or two with mine that were also struggling this much and they were healthy and normal after with no trouble walking at all. 🥰

Not being able to walk properly I'm sure is a bit frustrating for the chick but I would absolutely give that little one time and it may be just fine. The nutradrench and vitamins and other things people have been suggesting sound like a good idea too. The hobble you've got on the little one with splay legs looks good to me too. Sometimes these little ones just take a bit of patience. I hope both will be up and about in no time! :fl
Thank u so much!
It has been a very long day...more ways than one!
Thank you for the encouragement! It is good to know there may very well be hope and light around the corner!

Thank all of YOU sooooo much!
Idk how many of you know the enneagram...but I'm a 2. So yeah my emotions are just me...and in and around everything I do as well!

Anyways...I got everything yall recommended from vit B complex, sesame seeds, honey, nutridrench, vet wrap, shot glass, and pruners as I even read up on culling cuz I know how chronic pain is and would never want anything to suffer!

I came home and found all yalls encouraging words and saw the one that hatched last yesterday had actually tried to stand n take a step!
So I thought there might be hope after all!

I just got a divider made inside the brooder under the heat plate cuz the healthy 3 were really picking on em bad and I needed to get last hatch out of incubator.
This video clip shows the progress the LAST HATCH has made! It is not only standing but also walking with the vet brace on!
The other one that hobbles I think has little more wrong with it right leg joint (hock?) Cuz it is definitely swollen.
And since doing the vet brace it sits with the right foot up. Video should show u what I'm talking bout.

They look great!❤️❤️❤️
I am so happy and hopeful!😊
I totally get how you feel. I am also a very emotional person I started tearing up seeing this video!
Whenever something like this happens with chicks or one of my birds is sick I always say to myself, “do I really want to do this with these chickens?” I have considered selling my whole flock more than once.
The joys far outweigh the sorrows as is true with most things in life.😊❤️

Oh that is wonderful the last hatcher is walking so well! :celebrate

I hope the other little one makes more improvement too. If there is a slipped tendon that is a tough one but I've heard success stories even with those. Hopefully it's not that though and is an easy fix with time, the hobble, and some of those vitamins you've got. :fl

These little ones sure can be stressful sometimes! It's easy to lose yourself with worry when the little ones have problems (especially when it is something you've never seen before and don't know how to treat). These babies are lucky to have someone who cares so much though and is looking out for them like you are. 🥰

I weighed this boy on a hang scale yesterday to get a better accurate weight on him. He weighed 5.02lbs. That's progress for the project.

No picture of him on the scale, will take one next time.

What a morning! What?! After 11am!
OMGeeze I've been splitting, hobbling, hammock chair since 6am! And droppers of nutridrench and vitamin b complex!

The last hatch is doing very well! I'm amazed at just how well!
I'll try to get video after while. My back is killing me from all the bending over tending to em but thank God they are on kitchen counter otherwise I couldn't do this!
The other one with the right foot sticking up isn't doin as well. Pretty sure after everything I've read and studied n son-in-law agrees after he physically felt last night and read all I've read that it had a slipped tendon there at the hock joint.
This morning it even feels like a sharp pointy none has come through the skin which I read can happen. Born Monday not sure I'll be able to save this one as it has already begun to not wanna take the dropper and I'm afraid I'm drowning it more than helping it.
