What colour would you call this one?
She's my single comb sweetie girl I'm considering selling due to the comb ☹️

She’s gorgeous!😍
Not sure of the coloring. Looks like there may be some Colombian going on based on the pattern in the neck feathers.
If you love her, then you should keep her!❤️
Single combs are recessive in Silkies and when breeding not as important in the female as in the male due to most folks have fewer males than females. You could probably still work with it with her.😊

Oh she is so pretty! ❤️

I'd say by how light the gray areas are she is S/- (silver) Bl/bl+ (andalusian blue) e^b/e^b (partridge) CO/co+ (Columbian) or DB/db+ (dark brown which is similar to Columbian), hard to tell what pattern genes she has or doesn't with the silkie feathering so I won't try to guess those.

So basically a blue based gray/Columbian gray.

She is gorgeous single comb or not. If she were mine I'd definitely not be opposed to putting her in a mixed color/fun pen even with the single comb because she still has a lot going for her. 🥰

Thanks! I think I might keep her, next spring if I hatch some of her eggs I'll see what she brings to the table (not literally haha, just a saying!) 😊

Congratulations on your new badge!! :highfive:

Thanks! She does look like an interesting colour to put in the mix and her personality is nice so I might see how she works out.

I used a free pallet to make a seat for the front of the coop, a few chickies jumped up and had a sit with me and Puff did too. Inspector Biscuit approves, I think ☺️ .. it is a little broken on some parts but still feels stable when I sat on it so it will be fine ☺️
Next project is to make awnings so there is permanent ventilation throughout the year, now I just have it open at the top half of the coop on 2 sides but when it starts getting cold and wet I'll need to cover the open sides but still have airflow.

Luv it! I am doing similar with pallets into a potting bench!
Biscuit is so gorgeous!
I also have to open up areas on my new coop since we didn't have time to do so back in November and it was winter. So please post how you do it before and afters!

Yall I got a question...now that the weather is warming up (for the most part)
Do you think it is OK to leave my coop door open all night? It is completely secure. My concern is possible drafts with the coop door being down low.
The babies still aren't using the roost bars. I'm working with em but really wonder of I placed it too high. They get inside the coop and NEVER look up lol! Of course they got all that has fluff and I hate to cut it again after my last botch job on Josie.
