So, my first silkie rooster had to have the cha gene. I doubt seriously if momma has it being Bielefelder x EE. They produced two black headed babies while the body color was totally different. I specifically want to put this girls back with a silkie, possibly their father.View attachment 3150057View attachment 3150059
Too cute 😍 my female silkie partridge also had a black head with brown body. What does the cha gene refer to?

Still holding out Bluey is a girl!!!
Large comb yes...personality of a roo no.
Even head feathers seem pretty tame and only difference I see is the part at front from the comb...otherwise looks a lot like Lizzie! Sorry for the blurred pic...
Then one of Daisy (luv the small vaulted skull crest!)
And one partially of Lizzie!
Their beards are really comin in!!!
I luv me some bearded babies!!!

Some pictures I took to try and show sex differences at young age. I used a new rooster and he passed the moorhead to almost all of them. I prefer not to have it as it's against standard, but I can work with him for now. Notice how the males are orange around the neck to the females tan. Males also have bigger comb and tiny wattle spots that are already mulberry colored.

Blue partridge. Male on left, female on right. 7 weeks old +/- a few days. Female is older.

So cute! :love I love their colouring! There is a difference at such a young age with yours it's amazing. Wish I could tell at that age, maybe I'm just in denial till they get older 😂

Anyone have a silkie Roo who has taken over raising the chicks? My roo has been dedicated to his hen and the chicks since they hatched. Since the chicks reached 6 weeks he has been taking them out on expeditions around the property. Even when out with Mom if they got spooked they all ran to dad. Its adorable. For poor quality hatchery stock their instincts are spot on!

Just adorable!! 😍 💕 ❤ i wish barney hadn't started crowing at 430 am. I would have liked to see him do the same.

🤫 Teddy wears a collar, he dosen't crow early but will go All. Day. Long. and set off the big boy who then has to prove HE is the boss. 🙄
Shoot... maybe i should have tried a collar first!! But its ok, hes w a family and 6 hens and gets a nice safe yard to free range in. Now my girls are back to crowing. 🙄
