... I seriously need to get them into the turnout pen, but it's occupied by my BCM hen and her 3 little booplings. (I converted a baby crib into an outside brooder that sits under the eave on the front deck.

Reminds me of my first silkies that were both splash girls...Milli n Vanilli!

Annnnnnnd I think I’ll have my mom bring over the crib I’ve been trying to get rid of and get these babies outside…. Brilliant!

I'm going to have to tie ribbons around their necks of various colors so I can tell one from the other.
Of course I only had 4 but after watching them closely I learned they had totally different personalities...much like the 3 d'uccles I have now that all look alike!

I would keep the blue for a bit, hatch some of his eggs from the blue girls and try to keep a roo from that. Maybe even a splash.
That definitely seems like the best option for the colours I want, as well as everyone’s happiness. Hopefully he won’t turn into a turd when he’s top roo lol

I wrapped mine in deer netting, but am going to redo that when the crib is empty.. wrap it on the outside instead. Then I used empty feed bags on the inside to water proof the bottom and part way up the sides. Lastly I used garden wire for a top with some bamboo supports.. I keep an old quilt over the top.

I own 3 silkies, 2 white and one grey (blue?) silkie. The grey/blue one is the youngest and the other two I believe are siblings. Any advice on making silkies less skittish and enjoy my company? I have had a very good time socializing are chickens even older pullets but my silkies (especially the one I got as a chick...?) aren't very social. I'm starting to win over one or both white ones but my grey one hates being even touched.
