Mine scratched it but never seemed to eat it.I've done some coop renos inside for my expanding flock of 22.. more roosts and nests. I may have to change the nests to be side by side instead of stacked, I'm still working on placement of things anyway.
One of my 3 month olds (shipped eggs) is a boy for sure. The others look to have a more fluffy crest then this one but most likely 2 more of the 5 are boys too. I have listed him to rehome since the others have more good looking paint spots.

Has anyone used wood shavings before? - do they eat it? Mine seem to peck and eat it so I have only put down a small amount cautiously.

		 I now have wet dirt in the coop problems so added the shavings to nests and coop floor but they keep pecking at it and eating it
