So one group of my Silkies, my reds, tend to lay their eggs on the ground in the muddy run. It's rained a good bit here recently but even when it's not muddy I'd prefer for them to lay in their coop. Is there any way to train them in how to do that?
Maybe put some golf balls in the boxes
(Theyre actually laying on the ground instead of being broody in a box🤯))

My newest babies!! There’s also a few cochin banties in there, but mostly blue silkies.

I have eggs coming soon too! Can’t wait!!

Such beautiful babies you got!!!
So how many there?
I currently have 3 older silkies outside that I’m keeping (2 blue, 1 black), 5 chicks I got today (3 splash, 2 blue), and 8 eggs coming, all Blue/Black/Splash!

Plus the few Cochins that I’ll keep for an eventual Sizzle/Frilkie project! They are black as well.

Such pretty babies!
Is that a blue girl there in the middle? She's got some splash looking hackles...just gorgeous girl!
Thanks! I have a splash boy - long tail feathers and streamers, easier to tell closer up.. unless your referring to the pic with lots of the hens in it, then yes it's a girls with they grey on its wings, not splash colouring I don't think 🤔
