I love silkies and their sweet little purrrs
I got two chicks but think they both are male. The blue has crowed so I’m still holding out hope the paint is female but not sure . if they are not too bad, that just means I could have some more lol.

We are having a huge storm on the big island and they had to bunk in the garage after I had to bathe and blow dry them when I found them soaking wet lol and I went to check on them and one was purring. They are just the sweetest !

Hoo boy did we get colorful chicks.. Looked like someone was popping popcorn when I made my nightly trip to the bathroom where the incubator and brooder are. Went from 1 chick to 9 in a matter of hours. F1s and F2s

welp...I'm glad I was questioning this one and preparing myself...definitely a boy!
I prefer the lighter buffs and decided to sell the darkest one that was firery buff which was definitely a boy named Sonny.
I had named the one in question Cher but had slowly begun calling it Cher-bear cuz just so tall and well ya can't have a Sonny without a Cher right?!
Well once Sonny was rehomed (my brother bought him! ) don't ya know the next morning Cher-bear crowed over and over and even hackled up and fought a few other babies! So he will be my Sonny and we'll have him a Cher in few months lol!

I've got one dark blue, two extremely light blues and 3 golds. Those are from the Golden Girls and the Blue Spash.. Chipmonks are from Sioux and a Blue Spash. I also have what I think is Lavender, and I suspect it is from Sioux as well. One egg remains unhatched (full silkie) but is still viable. I believe the early hatchers just didn't want to miss out on Presidents day.. I guess they will all get President's names, or their wives depending on sex.
