Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Crest looks sort of grey on the white one? It is probably the blue gene.

The bottom boy should give some lighter colored chicks with the white hen. I'm curious how theyd look

And the guy or gal in the center? Would that be silver partridge? There's definitely nothing gold or yellow about the light areas.

I think need to let him grow up some more to see how he looks better.

He does look silver based but not really like the grey

Ya they get their share of treats, but when they start climbing up my legs with those claws out they go! They can both hop/flap up about 18” which is spectacular for a wee baby their age, their hatch mate is a regular sized chick who was flying everywhere by a week old - it was both sad and hilarious watching his 3 sisters try to fly with him

One day he popped up onto a low roost out in the run, Cappy leapt up … and epic fail didn’t even come close to getting up there awwwww!

Of course now she can and climbs like crazy up logs and bales of hay, and I caught her and her mum and sibs sharing dinner with my thoroughbred which freaked me out they just don’t move as fast as the reg sized chicks!

Waymaninit! I DO still have a Silkie - a half-Silkie, anyway! My Boo - hatched on Halloween, of course, is a five-toed, fuzzy-footed cross. Her Mama is Siri, my BJG. Papa was Herman the House Rooster - a blue splash Silkie who yes, for the first two years of his life DID actually live in the house ... until he discovered girls and willingly moved outside. So ... does that mean I can play here, too?
