Truly I think I like the satins better. I wonder what the blue cream looks like as a satin?
I don't have Blue Cream, but I have a Wheaten satin, the satin feathering really looks awesome 😁

I don't know what blue cream would look like but that chick in the middle is very light blue with some red partridge going on. Who knows where it came from!

ok. Then there's this lil bozo.. He's got the colors, and crest, but not the body I want.. But then the pullet has the body and no crest (different parents). Hopefully I can get better bodies and crests from the offspring.

So all eight of the fertile blue cream eggs hatched! Now for a question. For a breeding flock how many hens to roosters? Also is an 8ft by 8ft pen coop big enough for about 5 to 8 silkies?

Photo tax?

One of my silkies hasn't been doing well. She's around 6 and this molt hasnt helped. She hadn't been eating enough and lost weight so I'd tubed for a few days a couple weeks ago. She felt better after a couple days and was eating better.

I noticed today she wasn't eating much again so went out at bedtime to tube her. She's the weirdest bird yet. She actively tries to grab the end of the tube hose to swallow it. I think having that warm food makes her feel better and she knows it. It's just hilarious watching her snatch for it by my headlamp light.

Kaytee baby parrot food mixed with enough warm water to make it thin enough to squeeze through a lamb feeding tube. Mix food. Let set a moment because it swells and thickens. Then thin with more water. Most silkies take 50-60 ml in their crop if it's empty.

hope she recovers. try if she will eat boiled egg on her own. if/when she does it means she is getting better.
