They did great and Oliver my head rooster in that pen took care of them. 
Ho Ho ha ha, Happy Gnu Jeers.. We are starting off with a bang already. 18+ eggs, 3 pullets sitting (barely 8 months old).. 4 hatched overnight. This is the most uniquely colored of the 4. This is my red partridge project pen.
In other gnus. I've got a second satin that's going to be a barn burner in someone's breeding program. And the 'silver' partridge cockerel I've been holding to see how he would develop is getting red and gold in him.. Dang it!
Um, houseguest anyone? This guy has had his head tucked under his wing for two days now. Crop is empty so I suspect something stuck somewhere. Got a tiny bit of castor oil in his mouth, and watched him licking it with his tongue... A few minutes later the coughing started.. Cheep, cough, cough.. then he was up on the side of the box resting..Nice small comb and wattles, big muffs and beard plus a great body.

How are everyone and their Silkies? Been a while since I've commented, but wanted to check in! 
We're all surving like usual for this time of year. Lots of cleaning mudballs off toes like usual.
Danged silkies keep going broody on me, even in winter. That means, bring in hens with chicks and set up tubs until this big freeze goes back north.
And the blue boy is back to eating on his own.. though I have to keep the food and water at head height for him.

This 2 year old boy here successfully fought off a hawk today. Glad I didn't loose him. Hen it was going for is ok. Only lost a few feathers. He lost a few, too. So did the hawk.
He doesn't even have spurs. All claws and beak.
