Just yesterday, my sister left the main chicken gate open and one silkie is gone., but my current thing im trying to fix is my silkies dont seem to like their new home. At night they huddle at the gate but they dont want to climb the chicken ramp to the chicken house. Im guessing that maybe its too high off the ground, or its not comfortable enough. Do y'all have any fixes or solutions for this.
Try steps. For some reason, my birds (not Silkies) refuse to use a ramp. They will either fly or jump right over one, so I removed it. For the higher entrance, I added a small cluster of log sections, staggered like pier pilings. The littles and a few of the older hens use them like stairs.Just yesterday, my sister left the main chicken gate open and one silkie is gone., but my current thing im trying to fix is my silkies dont seem to like their new home. Ok, ill try the steps. its so weird because the Japanese silkies i got for my grandmother use the handmade steel ramp, but at home the wood ramp, they only go down and dont want to go up.Ive never been able to get my silkies to use a ramp. I put in steps and no problems
