i have 5 silkies 3 of which are young the old hen and the three young ones wing feathers are ripped up at the end...

we have dusted them for lice and mites.

If you have a rooster and only the 5 silkies, there is a good chance they are being overmated. This means that there are not enough hens to one rooster. You should have about 10 hens to one roo, 8 at the least. This happened to my hens and the feathers on the back of my buff orpington are still refusing to grow back. I would make a chicken saddle and get more hens, although I know some chicken owners can't because they have limited coop space. Here is a link for how to make a homemade chicken saddle"

If you don't have a roo, or if you have more hens, this probably isn't the case.
 
No they are not though i know what you mean
there is only one 1 1/2 month old roo with the two young hens and the other is only with sebright roos and its on their wings heres a pic of the three young ones. see the wings



 
OK then I believe it's pretty normal, all my chicks have had slightly crumpled wings on the ends, also the tails. If it continues to bother you if you looked it up on google there would probably be an answer there.
