Silky hatch-along and OdoBan on eggs experiment

Pics
These two I think were infertile as they never started to develop. The small one is a silkie and the larger from my Jumbo Cornish Cross girls.

The bottom one is the Cornish Cross. It's larger than a jumbo in weight.

I do expect a much higher hatch rate on eggs that didn't have to travel at the whim of the postal service being tossed and turned. Once there are silkies on site everything will be better.
Wow, I know they have low fertility rates, but it's always surprising to hear it still. Are you working on a larger White Giant style dual purpose breed?
Yes. Bigger breasts without leg or heart problems and the ability to breed naturally.

I have 6 full grown Cornish Cross hens out of a 25 batch of Str chicks. Hens were a year old Oct 31 of 2023. They were not supposed to live this long. They as friendly as silikies have a reputation for. They can't get close enough under foot for attention.
Wow, we had one on accident and she started having leg troubles about 19 / 20 weeks so we processed her. Having them over a year is amazing!
