Silky hatch-along and OdoBan on eggs experiment

We hit the trifecta on the OdoBan-dipped eggs with that hatching of

27-O @Pampered chicken girl (on the right) (I had put a ? mark on this one at the last candling!)

Nobody is glowing or hatched with 4 legs, I guess we can assume a low toxicity risk along with no immediate DNA damage was done? I think fertility and the first set of offspring will clinch the safety of the OdoBan.

Good point!

I'm sure these are perfect in every way but I'll hang onto a couple of those three for that reason. It'll be neat to watch them grow up knowing they spent 60 seconds soaking in disinfectant and lived to squawk about it. Then if lucky and have hens, in 7-8 months, produce an egg.

I was left with only 3 of those so yup, I'm tickled! I'm hoping the other two make it. One is zipped, the other, nothing I can see.

Three cuckoo eggs are left in there: one is zipped, one with an internal pip, the other, nothing I can see.

It looks like Ember and Maple are both dark, I'm excited to see them fluffed up!

Those 6 are alone in the brooder for now so giving them time to get pretty before I take a group photo.
