Silky hatch-along and OdoBan on eggs experiment

Pics
Here's my pen lol. Piper, the mauve rooster is with Charlotte, Marsha, and Cocoa Puffs for the first round. I've gotten 3 eggs in 4 days so this is going VERY slow. They are all just 9 months old so they'll get better at this soon. :popMaybe I'll have to just incubate when I hit like 6. :gig

They're so pretty and so fluffy!

Miss Marsha better start giving you some good eggies to hatch, I need to see the fluffiness!

it's so fluffy despicable me GIF

OdoBan ? After buying a jug 65 miles from home I found a shelf full of it at of all places a Dollar General store. No they had about 5 different flavors of it. It is being sold in the laundry supplies. Are they all the same? What was on the label of the one that you used? Can you post a picture of the info on the jug? Now I'm not sure what I bought is the same as what you used.

Here is a link to the post Debbie shared what she used. I only remember because I asked for it too 🤣

Thank you. They are most likely exactly the same. I'm going back and read the label when I'm not in a rush. The next hatch will be all OdoBan eggs for me. I'll be setting 41 eggs of 4 different breeds. About 10 eggs of Red Sex Links, Dark Cornish, White Giants, and American Bresse. I'm trying to get my Cornish Rock grill to laying again like they were. I get a few eggs a week but not like they were. With longer days they may pick up. I'm going to try and get some local silkie eggs and will definitely use OdoBan on them.

Thanks for digging that out, Tink. Yes, @LTAY1946 back then I had seen they had different flavors and as long as it said "Disinfectant" it's the same product. They make carpet cleaner and other stuff so you wouldn't want their other products, well, at least not for poultry purposes. ☺️

My younger silkies are still pokie. I sure hope they do pick up too. The old bats lay like crazy. We can't keep up so maybe I should start that incubator up again and have a modge podge batch of frizzle, partridge, etc. from the old folks, and fluffy butts from the new ones. ☺️ I would have to hope they'll sell this early.

I have to wait a week though as I'll be out of town 1st weekend in March and don't want hubby having to deal with new chicks by himself.

Oh, that's going to be so uneventful and small compared to my other one and your current one. :old

Maybe I'll wait and do one when they're laying more eggs so I could put in 2+ dozen instead of just one. We'll see!

We could join forces and do a shared Hatch-a-long. Would that even work? 🤣

I don't think I'll be doing the 2 incubator thing again (or will I ?....) Depending on the results of the pending test and the results of the current hatch, I may do another one the first week of March. I make plans, they change, I make new plans, they change again...

This time, I can only use the Brinsea since I'll be gone and that's "set it and forget it" so hubby doesn't have to do anything when I'm gone but look at it. ☺️
