I have an odd fear of heights, I got over parts of it when I was in the military, being up on top of an aircraft wing is OK. But trying to go down a ladder that is at a steep angle from a roof...
NOPE.. down from a tree.. UH NOPE!
When I was a child I wanted to be like the bigger sibs and cousins and they climbed up on a propane tank... I got up and couldn't get down, they did and took off leaving me...
AND.. a double Ferris wheel, as it is coming down from that HIGH arc, I am shaking, I can't look and just want the ride to be over with.
Flying no prob, elevators.. no issue...
And I had a very strange phobia of being in a small car, next to a big rig truck, on a bridge when its under construction. The narrowing of the lanes, big rig drivers not looking to where their wheels are...
and me being squeezed closer and closer into the side of the bridge or the concrete dividers. It stems from years of driving up through the bay area when I was in the military and afterwards.
I just recently got over it, even in a larger car I had it.. still do get it.. but not as bad.
I grew up in the desert so no fear of reptiles, spiders or the dark. Just a fear of small cars/big trucks squishing me.. and oddly specific version of fear of heights.
DH just told me he has an old phobia of siamese twins.
