I have 6 Silver Duckwing Phoenix chicks, hopefully a rooster or 2. I was wondering if there was anywhere I could find information to find out what to do to insure that their tails grow as long as possible. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well mainly you want to keep them in small quarters, on shavings, indoors, at all times to have them grow the super long show tails.

with my experience they seem to grow longer when free ranging and eating grass. Here is proof....

Thanks Ryan. I don't know if I can do the free range. I have many breeds and my cross flock is free ranging. But you do think they do better outdoors rather then being inside? Thanks again

Ditto, same here. If you cant free range then you need a very big cage.
The post should be high so that the tail does not touch the floor.

This is our silver phoenix at a show this past weekend.

He is absolutely beautiful. I am hoping I have atleast 2 roosters. If so I think I'm going to free-range one of them and keep the other with my Phoenix hens.
