He's a little rooster. We had one and gave him to our friend. His wattles and comb developed so much quicker. He's about 9 weeks old now and he's starting to take command of the girls.
I wish I had had other SLWs to compare to. That would make this easier. But I appreciate the two responses so far. Can anyone give me hope that he(?) is a hen? Or should I call the breeder in the morning? :/ Sent from my XT926 using Tapatalk 2Quote: He's a little rooster. We had one and gave him to our friend. His wattles and comb developed so much quicker. Well, he's beautiful! I don't know much about SLW's, but I do know that if their wattles and comb develop earl - it's a roo.
Okay.... I picked this one up 4/10. As for age, I'm not 100% sure on it, but I would day under 3 months? Marsala here hasn't been crowing at all, but I have noticed she has this queer curl to her tailfeathers now, and I'm beginning to wonder if my she isn't a he? I read somewhere roos tend to be more leggy? Well.. we definitely have LEGS. I'll try to get better pics tomorrow. Can almost see the tail curl. I would have to say pullet. She looks like the one I have. I gave away a roo slw to my friend and I knew it was a roo because of the waddles and comb were RED at 6 weeks. Last weekAround April 27
