Silver sussex

Hi everyone,

I've been looking for some hatching eggs(in UK) for silver sussex but they seem very rare. There are a number of hybrids with numerous names(pied rangers,reverse Sussex,black Sussex, sometime silver sussex) that look very similar. On various pages different crosses seem to be mentioned for this bird.

Is there a simple cross that would produce a bird that looks similar with similar colouring?

Obviously I could just buy a hybrid but I normally hatch out hens as less risk of bringing in new diseases etc to the rest of my flock and we also like to bond with our hens! How else would all the chicks get their TV time

have you tried the breed society secretary? They would have a list of SS breeders, though perhaps it's a bit late in the year for the real pros.
