My husband has a soft spot for runners. So, if at all possible, we want runners to add to our flock.

SO I am new at this baby duck thing. How much does a baby duck eat??? It seems storm eats every 30-45 minutes followed by a nap. She walks around, peeps the whole time she eats, has had droppings and is drinking lots of water with the food. I am just amazed at how often she eats.

Is this normal?

Oh my gosh how adorable. Yes she is a very normal duckling.

You are giving her feed and water 24/7 right now? Very important. Plus she'll need some B vitamins too. Legs grow so fast she can get shaky leg or unsteady legs easy unless your feeding duck specific. feed.

Yes ma'am. We bought duckling starter feed, not chick starter. Though I have purchased brewer's yeast just in case. She has access to water and food 24/7,

That's great hopefully she'll be fine on the duckling starter. Sometime they still need a little extra niacin but it depends usually on the breed or ducklings like Pekin duckling that grows at lightening speed.
You know your making me want Runner ducklings I already have 9. I was so hoping for a chocolate in my hatch last year but it didn't happen.

Would Brewer's Yeast be enough? Or is there something better?

Liquid B complex works better once they have a problem,[TSC] it wouldn't hurt to add some Brewers yeast to her feed now it's 1 Tab per cup of feed. May not be necessary but can't hurt her at all. They just pee what their body doesn't need.

I would rather be safe than sorry. And if I can stave off anything now, by all means, I will.
