Site update issues

@Nifty-Chicken Would it be possible to get some updates on the situation from the techie staff? And some sort of notice on the front page about the technical difficulties would probably calm a lot of people down.

Also, the image uploading through the galleries seems to be broken too, gives the same error message as for uploading via the editor.
I agree that a notice at the top of the site page would be helpful. I knew to come to this thread for an update, but a lot of users are not as familiar with the site as I am. The fact that the error message for down loading photos says to try loading again means that many people will get very frustrated. They will know to just be patient while the technical difficulties are addressed.
 
Funny tho, I see other people have uploaded pics in the the last few days,one just today...thought it was fixed but got the same error when trying to upload.

Whole site is acting glitchy.

ETA:pics seem to be working now....still glitchy stuff going on, the way pages load.

I have noticed more/new glitches in the system and though it is frustrating, I just wanted to thank the IT department for all their hard work in trying to fish out and correct the problems. Reading this thread has reminded me to take a d-e-e-p breath a remain patient while the wrinkles are ironed out.

Glad I found this series of posts and know it's not my laptop acting up. I still have no formatting in reply boxes (the smileys, bold, italics, etc.). Wondering if I need to "shut down and restart" my computer or are others having this problem too?

As the wife of an IT person (not BYC's IT), I can tell you that the first thing he will ask is if you tried re-booting. Sometimes that fixes a lot of problems (I hate that fix, because I'm often in the middle of something else and have to save my work/place/web site/etc.). If you still have the same problem after rebooting...then they know it won't be a "simple" fix and they need to look more in to the issue. That is why they also ask what browser, and what version, etc.. If the problem is with IE users but not Mozilla users it helps to narrow it down.

I keep seeing that problem and often it fixes itself when I do an F5 (refresh).
