My sister-out-law makes some great ones. She says it's easy. Maybe we need a Bake-a-long to coincide with the Hatch-a-longs?

There is no comparison between Starbucks and Peets. Starbucks will do as a latte but I will drink most anything to avoid Starbucks coffee black.![]()
"In the Peets vs. Starbucks debate," I just drink what DH buys. That's what I had to do yesterday to find DH's coffee. He's the coffee person and I'm the one who's always losing or looking for something, but I was hunting the entire house and part of the yard for his coffee cup yesterday and I don't lose my coffee!!!! Go figure!![]()
Glad you posted!!!

Now, that's just teasing!!! I want one too now!
My favorite coffee pot was the glass vacuum pot that worked something like the Moka. The water was poured in the bottom and the coffee was put into the top shaped like a tulip with a long stem that fit into the bottom with a rubber seal and a filter. The water was forced into the top by the pressure as the water heated. Once the water was in the top the pot was removed from the heat and the vacuum sucked the coffee back into the bottom as the pot cooled. It made a good cup of coffee fairly quicklypercolator coffee makers are still sold.
The moka pot is different:
water goes through the grounds once
The water is under pressure.
percolators circulate the water over the grounds repeatedly.

Deb, how about one of those magnifying glass lamps? Not good for a book, but just to look at a bill I think it might be worth trying.
Deb, a quiet word with the person before he or she makes any recommendations might be a good idea too... (Sometimes you have to apply guerrilla tactics)
Oh and Good morning Everyone.... We have lots to do here. Grandma has to go to the Braille instituete to get evaluated.... Her macular degeneration went wet about two months ago and shes loosing all but her periphrial vision.... So they are going to see what kinds of reading aids she can get the best use out of...
This has been a hard one for her... She fell and broke her hip at 94 got a hip replcement within about 24 hours went to a recovery hospital for about two weeks.... two weeks of horror for me.... Gawd I hate those places that wearhouse old people... She came home and was doing for her own needs within about a month.... But at 95 she couldnt pass her drivers test.... a year off from driving took away her confidence..... she had driven with a license since she was 12.
So now her eyesite is going taking away the one great pleasure she still had.... Reading. We finally talked her into checking out the Braille institute (she was in denial for about a year).... And got her Audio books and a reader.... OH my goodness they had her favorite author too.... Nora Roberts. I am soo happy to see her happy again....
But now she wants to be able to read stuff like the bills and write a check now and then... So we are taking her in in about a half hour for an appointment with a specialist....
deb "who will go through her coffee drive through on the way."
