Welcome to the thread!! I would just be shooting in the dark on the mixes but I would guess yellow are Leghorns, Black is barred rock and the others are ameracana. You probably won't know for sure who daddy/mamma are as one trait would probably over ride the others but I am not a genetics expert. I just think it will be fun to see how they grow out. Enjoy!Hi all! I have some pictures of my chicks that just hatched and they are mixed breeds. someone on BYC told me that I should come on your thread and you could probably help me figure out which is which. I thought I'd give it a try. I have chicks that came from White leghorns, Ameraucana, and Barred Rock roosters and the same group of hens. The person that I got the eggs from was more interested in eggs and not breeding. I'll say one thing. He has fertile roosters. I set a dozen eggs and everyone of them was fertile. I ended up with 10 out of 12 and the chicks are thriving so far. The only ones I would know for sure are from a certain roo I would imagine are the black ones. Barred Rock, but mixed with which. Hopefully someone can help me figure this out. Here goes.
Well, I hope you can see these well enough. The one little yellow chick has black spots on it's lower back. The colors are pretty true. I'm just curious. It's actually a real mix. Some gray as you can see, some with a black stripe up it's back and so on. Thanks for any help you can give.
