Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Oh chickychickens see if you can find chicory

Common chicory, Cichorium intybus,[3] is a somewhat woody, perennial herbaceous plant usually with bright blue flowers, rarely white or pink. Many varieties are cultivated for salad leaves, chicons (blanched buds), or for roots (var. sativum), which are baked, ground, and used as a coffee substitute and additive

You may have to make the egg coffee recipe but it might hold you over until lent is done.

Why can't we just leave the clocks alone! What state is it that doesn't change? I want to move there.
totally, TOTALLY with you.. dumbest thing ever!

Arid-zona doesn't change their clocks.

New Mexico floated something up to the State Senate to keep it Daylight Savings all the time. I think it got voted down as nobody wanted their kids to be sitting in the freezing cold at a bus stop in the dark....
also stupid! Just build and set up those boxes. We have boxes here for the kids to stand in. bottom half solid, top half clear plexiglas stuff. They can stand in there out of the wind and see the bus coming.

Snow until 7 PM - knee deep on the flats right now - single digits tonight and all day tomorrow - my back aches - this is March 5 in NJ - I should be planting peas -

We usually plant May 1st.........

oh that is so depressing to me about hot flashes
It has always been my dream to be warm without a 3 layer outfit

Me too. lol

The pea feather is from a line that have been in the family for about 50 years, I got some of that line again last year.

That's fantastic! I'm so happy for you!!!

Good Morning All!
we are having a COLD day! No school due to cold icky weather. High expected of 35 low of 26 F
Winter weather advisory
and

I like your agenda!!! I need to write my schedule according to this.

Hate to say it, but you guys are equipped for that kind of stuff. Here in the south folks don't know what to do with a few flakes on the ground.
hu.gif

Flakes????? All it takes is a little more rain than usual and ppl forget how to drive right! lol
(I can say that b/c I'm a native Floridian, so it's not an insult.)

Don't forget to set your chickens
an hour ahead this weekend!!!
(Alaskan-for you set all the boys 1 hour ahead)

I like Marge's take on DLST
I always get messed up w/ DST. My phone is my alarm clock, so it goes forward automatically. I have to get up around sunrise, so I can let the chickens out early enough to suit them. This year, I think I'm going to offset the hour of sleep lost by instituting a daily nap.

Yup, this!!!!!
Most countries in Europe don't anymore. But if there's a state in the US that doesn't, I'd seriously consider relocating too!

third cup of coffee on the last (I hope) cold day,

collecting eggs for the incubator every hour again today.

I'm leaving my OE's eggs in the nest everyday in hopes that she'll go broody for me. I might need to supplement w/ some Comet eggs. I'm going to give her the rest of this week anyway.
I need to build a door and buy some hinges to secure the nest box once she's (hopefully) gone broody.

Arid-zona it is!!! I'm due for some dry weather after living in the drown in your own sweat Deep South all my life. I'll talk to DH.

When does Lent end?
(Easter I know, but when is it this year?)

ep.gif
Nooooooooooooooo

One of my grandsons gave up shrimp for lent - he hates shrimp. Next year just give up tea.
hide.gif

Does he realize that doesn't count as giving up?
I was taught to give up something important to me, b/c Lent was a time to share in Jesus' suffering. Was I taught wrong? I could have given up beans if I'd known differently; I hate those!!!

Yeah...lol! My mom said i have to be serious and give up sometjhing i REALLY like...so i chose coffe..#stupidme

I'm with you! When I was Episcopalian, I used to give up Chocolate Milk
ep.gif

Everyone who knew me was shocked at me giving up chocolate anything, but I was taught, as you are, to be serious and give up something I really liked.

I need a head shaking emoticon for you ppl and your attitudes toward Lent.
I say that if someone is doing something for God, then do it right (with a heart for God) or don't bother.
Whatever a person does, I think they should do it well and do it right regardless of who it's for or why they're doing it.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox now.

Ack I couldn't give up coffee. not for anything or anyone lol I've given up lots of vices in my life but espresso will not be one of them. More power to you religious folks. So glad we live in such a great country where people can exercise their religious views!

Yep Arizona. My sister lives there. Totally throws off phone calling at an appropriate time!

Thanks, Puddin, I needed that. I just ranted to the Princess, got a hug, and she said, "I've been at that point for the entire month of Feb." She hides the frustration better than me. My poor dogs haven't been trained in well over a month - they too are bored and frustrated.

Your wife is a saint!

I wish i could!! But my family decided to give up coffee for lent...so now all I can drink is tea

My 7 year old granddaughter has been taking catechism classes to become Catholic. She will make her first communion soon. My DD told her I was brought as Catholic. DGD asked me what I was giving up for lent. I told her honestly that I no longer do that. I asked what she was going to give up and she said beans! She hates beans.
gig.gif
Her Dad is from Texas, they have a lot of beans!
