Ewuuuuuuuuuu - frogs and roaches? I am cleaning my coffee maker now!

We got our 4H pigs today - lots of fun but now the horses are afraid to go in the barn!

Pigs make odd furtive noises and strange odors... Its a fear that is inherited in horses. Takes time but they will get used to it.

We started with my daughter wanting 4H pullet chain chickens. That's what got me addicted. Then she wanted a pig. Not ideal for her as she just wanted it as a pet to keep forever and ever. She was not at all into the raise it and then sell it for slaughter thought. I told her it was a big NO as a pig ate way more than we could afford to keep feeding if it were just a pet. Good thing too because I inherited the chickens (by my choice) and I would have inherited the pig too.

Now she complains when I ask her to do anything with the chickens and she wants a hedgehog.

Up early ---- need lots of coffee.

Yes! 1st morning I have gotten chance to sit on porch HAPPILY and enjoy java without disturbances! Raining/thundering but that is a peaceful time because pesty pets are hiding! Hope everyone has a peaceful quiet(or whatever noise you appreciate) weekend. Supposed to be, finally, dry here. But the major temporary ponds need to soak in so work will be difficult. Drink up!

My son has a friend who would have us baby sit her animals when she traveled over the summer with her parents.
When she got home...I found out she had given them to us.

By the third year she wanted a dog.
"NO! Do not let her have a dog. If she gets a dog then I get to pick it out!, And she better not use up all the puppy!" Luckily her parents agreed with me.
It got to where her parents were asking me what kind of pet she should get. ''One that does not end up at my house."

She got a hedge hog too.
I flat out refused the hedge hog. It got given to someone else.
Pets should be family not temporary fads or whims.
