I am an enabler - talked two families into chickens at TSC yesterday. Steered them away from CC and straight run to sexed pullets. One family already had a coop, and the second was looking into buying a coop before getting chicks. Yes, I did well.

Also told them to get online with BYC.

You are a good ambassador. I have been known to give advice at the chickens at TSC. The closest store to my house is TSC.

I sooo agree on that last line.

I had a very good friend when I was in my early twenties. Shes a good friend now... but she got married and well you know relationships change.

Anyway her husband was a Sea Captian. Ran a sport fishing boat out of Fishermans Landing here in San Diego. He had a parrot called Skipper... Cute little bugger but one of those ones that had a lound raucus voice. I suspect friend and her husbands parrot had an adaption period.

But within six months... "Oops honey I was cleaning Skippers cage and he flew out the window...." I didnt believe it... Her husband was sweet and understanding.... Hes not stupid either.

Fast forward to her wanting a dog... she would adopt them from the pound.... keep em till they did an infraction and they would either get rehomed or sent back to the pound.

Each dog she got I knew she was setting up for failure.

I adopted a cat her husband brought home...

She went through a greyhound too.... at the time I had a greyhound... Big old goober dogs. I love em.... I would take my greyhound for a play day with her dog. ONe day she accused my dog of peeing on her wall in the hall. Um I didn't thing he had done it and she said... "MY dog doesn't know how to hike... " Well I hadn't actually seen him hike ever... So my poor guy now had no one to play with... because we were NOT invited over if I had my dog with me.

then she caught her dog doing it again....

My dog was vindiated... we still were banned... sigh. But within a year something happend to cause her dog to break a hind femur. The kids had got him to running from the front yard to the back yard... he skittered and fell. The vet said the break was soo bad it would be easier to amputate. She refused and had him put down... I was curious because I have seen lots of three legged dogs... and she said she had had a three legged dog years ago and it was not a good life... I was just puzzled because when you talk one on one with people you have known for a very long time you learn to read them. She wasnt reading loss... or pain...

As I write this I just came to an understanding about this person... and an explanation of some things that have bothered me for years.

Just incase you might want to use it.... There is a button in the reply area called Multi. Its a way to tag more than one post to quote. Just gather up several by clicking on the Multi button.... then to reply you click the reply in the last one you wanted to quote.

This will pull up all the comments and they will be in their own boxes and you can answer each one in turn in a single post.
