Ok, you just made spit out a mouthful of perfectly good coffee!!!@Puddin Fluff The original comedy routine - poultry. Gotta love 'em!
I can just hear the llamas as you walked away; "We tried to tell her the situation was under control, but did she listen to us? Nooooo! She had to go and open that door, and get a duck in her face . . . ."
Hope the coffee's good.![]()
Morning everyone. Nice and quite here now that the animals are fed.
My son & I managed to get an old tarp over part of the Chicken Run yesterday. So that maybe when we get more rain (Monday & Tuesday) they won't be walking in half an inch of mud...

Slurrrp! mornin y'all
Good looking dog. Is he back?
A bit of a soaker rain we're getting this morning. Trudged to the coop with the morning vittles for the birds -- all is good in their world as they're warm and dry and they get room service -- then back inside for a nice steamy coffee reward. Love that the yard is getting water and it's a day off from yardwork (which is in high gear with Spring and plantings and just general sprucing.) Not so in love with having to go to Santa Fe today for a class and it may be snowing....not fun to drive in. But for now I'm content just to sit and enjoy the warmth emanating from my mug.
So true!

I'm surprised you still have 10 toes, assuming you started with 10 and.................... ummmm... errrrr... ahhhh... better leave it a that.I think: weapon of choice? - shovel? - rifle? I choose rifle. I don't want to be close enough to a skunk to hit it with a shovel. So I traipse down to the coop, curlers on head, rifle in hand. Scanning the property, all the while the chickens are making a commotion. The llamas are looking at me like "we live with crazy people" as they chew their cud and stay cushed in place.
I say good morning to them and go to open the pop door so that if there is anything inside it will have an escape route and I can shoot it outside instead of in the coop. The chickens fall silent at the sound of the door sliding open, and nothing comes out. So I go to the people door and go inside and am almost knocked over by a flying duck (which I did in response).
Coffee. I need coffee.
