Sigh.... here next to the Border its an international issue. My son was never out of my sight or out of Voice contact from Me Mom or Grandma. Or under the protection of a teacher.

There was a case here in the mall of a Child about three years old being quietly grabbed up in the mall. By the time they made it to the exits she had her clothes and hair color changed.... Mall cop caught them.

I wouldnt have even allowed the "social experiment" I would have told him to find someone else.

Its a very scary world out there for children.... But you gotto know Most child abductions are not from strangers.

Yeah. I haven't even gotten into human trafficking with my kids. I just tell them that we would probably never see them again.
I put on a video after that one, where a girl was abducted in broad daylight and ppl just walked by and didn't even stop to help her. You know how on YouTube, another video comes up with a countdown? Well, the next one was about those three girls who were held for ten years. I told the kids that those girls were the lucky ones, even though they went through being raped and tortured for ten years, they're the lucky ones...because they lived. They have a lot of stuff to deal with, but they're alive to deal with it! I think that really hit home for them, that most of these kids that are abducted, even young ladies and grown women, are never seen again (dead or alive).

Yeah, I know. My youngest told me it was always okay to talk to this person and that person; I told him that he needs to talk to me before he talks to anyone else. DH had to talk to him, but he gets it now.

Untill they are about ten or twelve years old I wouldnt assume what I have said to them would stick.

Just recently there was a twelve year old girl in a very affluent neighborhood who an abduction was attempted... she screamed and kicked and bit and got away.... she was lucky. They caught the guy and she id'd him. It wasnt his first rodeo either....

I had a co worker... very nice man very knowledgeable in his field... He and his wife were divorced.... We called him Ant man because he loved the character and always wore those sunglasses that covered his eyes. Two kids and he had custody.

He came in one day complaining about the bill after a shopping trip with is daughter. She was thirteen. and he allowed her to shop at Victoria Secret....

. They do sell clothes but not the kind of clothes for a thirteen year old to wear to school.... at least not MY thirteen year old.

Not a month after that his daughter complained that a guy in a car was following her as she walked home from school. Ant happened to be on his way to work so he turned around and caught the guy.

But DANG. I saw pictures of his girl.... Dress meaning clothing, Makeup and attitude... I would have sworn she was around eighteen.

These days you cannot make yourself a target.... I have been mugged. it wasnt fun and my fault for getting knocked down too. But it definately was my fault for not being aware of my surroundings. Heck I was walking from the hair dresser to the drug store... about five hundred feet across the parking lot. Digging in my purse for a dollar to rent a video... Yep that long ago....

I had just stepped up on the sidewalk infront of the drug store and this young man about six foot tall came running up to me... I thought he was late for work up at Costco... and was going to pass. He hit me in the shoulder and hooked my purse... his mistake. I do not let go of ropes.... years with horses. He came to the end I set my weight and at the time then even it was considerable. I set my weight in to the ground it was body memory on my part. he had to tug a couple of times before he pulled me over. I kept hold of that rope.... (purse handle) and he gave up.

He dragged me about two feet too. 300 lbs of dead weight does wonders. Bwhahahaha. But the deal was the trolly had just opened up a spur into Santee. The detective that took my desposition and description said he had done this in this area before. Thank goodess I didnt have my then 2 year old son with me....

Thanks fr the research. I might get to look at it this weekend. We are supposed to be getting rain so I'll be indoors. I know the LAAk is no longer active. I did find an Arkansas Facebook group. I just need to set up a Facebook for myself.

I need to build a clipping chute to help limit their movement when I need to clip nails. They are very good at dancing away from me in the pen. Sonora is next on the shearing list and I totally expect to be spat upon.

With Kevis I just sort of envisioned a back room full of teenage boys thinking they got the best summer job EVER.

ROTFLMAO! :lau

I did not even think in that direction. Now I will get flagged and sanctioned and... darn. :(

We won't report you! That was hilarious! :hugs

All the abduction stuff a cares me to death. I don't worry about my son any more, he's 16 and a black belt but my 14 year old daughter worries the bejebbies out of me. I just have to let go and let God. :);)

@perchie.girl great story... in that you made sure that he didn't get your purse! Way to go! But, it is also a sad story, because I am sure it scared you half to death, I hope you didn't get bruised up or hurt too badly. Sure is nice that your purse was so strong!
