Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I wish! It runs through the alley and cuts a river through my backyard. We've tried to make sort of a pathetic attempt at a beaver **** with wood chips to try to slow it down. It's not usually an issue, but it seems everyone is in for their share of out of the ordinary weather. We were able to finally get the run finished, but we can't paint or finish the inside of the coop until the rain stops and it all dries. That's the real problem. There isn't enough time for anything to dry before it rains again.

OK, so, am I the only one that didn't know there were goats you could throw a saddle on?

That has to be photo shopped... Just like the BIG cat or Rabbit that has been circulating about.

edited to add.... Apparently not. Its a combo of a very large goat and smaller people.
but these goats in india run about 180 kilos. or close to 400 lbs.

Watch out, Llamas! You've got major pack goat competition!

I was able to shear two more today. Just two left to go. I would like to get a couple of them back in to finish them off a bit more but if I don't, they will at least be cooler.

. Any takers? You see? I know not to walk up and ask someone their name Without telling them mine first. My first chicken was a 4-h RIR lingbtine ago.
My hubby is retired Air Force. I grew up in a small town in Arkansas and we are bout 2 hours away from my folks. I always wanted animals but my folks did not. I had the usual kid pets, dog, cats, hamster, parakeet, fish, but I always wanted a horse.

We have two teen age kids, we started a bit late and my hubby is older than I am. My son is super bright and just got accepted to a Math and Science school for his Jr.&Sr. year of high school. My daughter is talented and very unique but not particularly scholastic which worries my husband.

Hubby retired and we bought this house in 09. Got started with chickens in spring 11 when my daughter wanted the pullet chain in 4H. She did all the work the first year, did great but then she was not as interested, but I was bitten by the chicken bug.

Hubby opened his big mouth and said we should get llamas and I jumped on it. We got our first two, 2 years ago and now we are up to 6.

We are very much do it yourselfers but hubby is starting to have some back issues so I think we are going to have to start hiring a few things done for us.

I think the world has forgotten how to be polite. Even when you can't see someone's face, your words/actions still have repercussions and I don't think our younger folks are learning this as they should. Just my 2 cents.

Llamas? Like big dogs and horses.
What can you do with it. Ride it?
Being funny!
I know, i never went I neve went to Middle school and my youngest never saw the insides of middle school or high school. The oldest did, my hubby did too and he was also the eldest.
One does not have to be a Rhodes scholar and she may fool you and just go into the military or pan for gold.

Wow,
If I had my life to do over. Some things I would not change for the world.
If I had my kids to do over. I would have them closer in age. They are 9 years apart.

I believe some people I can not tell is they have kids in middle school.
But when adults act like middle school students I know they have kids in middle school. I personally never went and put my foot down and refused to send the younger to school. My eldest son was following in his dads footsteps. Literally even the retiring military part. The younger had to get wavers to go into the military and I had to sign statements that I was not communist and never taught my son the communist ways. At first when the Chief said that to me at the recruit station I though he was joking! He was not. Been many years ago and dont know if things have changed. Youngest went in to the service on delay entry bc of College. Then he got out after only 5 years medically retired after a helo incident left him seeing things not there, not seeing things there. Hearing things not said, not hearing things said. He was left incompetent and in our Guardianship and we go to the VAMC once a week. That is a part I would change if I could turn back the hands of time. I would reduse ri sign the paperwork about what I taught him and what I did not teach him. Then he would not be able to try and follow in his dad and brother's footsteps.

When the military has used anperson and bles them dry they theow them away unless the media is on them and then it is a big production.

I am not and have never been a fan of authority. Shocked everyone when I married a military guy whom planned to be a lifer. I am anti-establishment, but I love order, just dont like authority at all. None what so ever. I was born in Virginia and rerurned to Virginia with my hubby for retirement.
I loved it out west. I loved Europe and would live there if I could but I need the VAMC or our sons medical.

I loved California and Seriously considering selling our farm and moving west back to California or Arizona. My hubby say not. Well after another cold winter Like the past several and he may change his mind.most if his family has died and moved away also.

Both sides of our family bred like PANDAS. Even our sons so far have bred like PANDAS. The oldest has a daughter an lives in Northern Europe. The younger lives with us and has no kids at all. Maybe he will be like my hubby's brother. Have his first kids in his 40's by default. He finally married and to a woman with two kids. So there is hope Our youngest may marry and have a kid or two. But no time soon.

Gee I really miss the west. I felt like me there. I felt free there. When it is hip deep in snow here on the roof top of Virginia I miss the weather out west the most. I loved Nevada. It was soooo great. Why come here to retire? Home state. Married going on 43 years.

Seemed like that was what we were supposed to do.

Things have changed here. Farms are housing developements. Old friends dying, died or moved away.
About to post pictures if my Blue Laced Ref Orpingtons that I created. I called them Mr. Purple monster and Mrs Purple Monster.
