This time it appears the initial response was much quicker and far better coordinated. As they learn more about this particular strain we will hopefully not have the knee jerk panic responses of last spring. I just hope they don't start locking down borders again before I can get my shipment of new SLW chicks in a couple months.
They just this month started once again allowing poultry shows and swap meets in my state .

Anyone familiar with pressure treated plywood? I need to build a deck for stacking hay.

Does it out-gas... or give off fumes?

Only worried about tainting the hay. I spoke to the pro desk people at Home depot and they said they arent allowed to use Arsenic any more. ONe 3/4" sheet is about 40 bucks.

I will price the same at Discount Plywood. They are a roofing contractor supply house but they sell to the public.

Right now I have pallets down and while they can support the weight of the hay... I am terrified to walk on them. I have had one of those thin pieces of wood crack and give way when I step on it. IF I am going to work out there I cannot afford failure of that sort. I was lucky I didnt fall down or slice open my ankle... Cell phones dont work out there.

All I know for certain is don't burn your scraps. We can get fined here if we get caught doing it because of the toxic smoke. I don't know if the chemicals used are the same, but I could not use pressure treated posts or timbers in my gardens without losing my organic certification.

Yep that part I knew... I will use pressure treated for underneath the plywood. Since it will be setting directly on the ground.
