HAPPY DANCE!!!

The day before Soup passed away I decided to post an add on Craig's list to see if there was any interest in my crazy rooster because Soup looked like she might actually recover and I just didn't know how I could put her back with the flock without him killing her. Anyway, I left the ad up and actually found him a great home! When I checked my email last night my inbox had no less than 4 emails from the same lady!. She sent one right after the other, "I will be home all day I can come get him right now".........(I read her emails too late for that) each with more information and the last even containing pictures of her place and her very happy, healthy looking flock out playing on her large property, with the line " my very lonely 13 ladies can't wait to meet him!".

Turns out she is only about 10 miles from us, what kind of answered prayer is that??? When I sent her the reply that she could have him, she answered right back that if it was ok they will call Sunday after church for directions to come get him "and oh, does Mr Rooster have a name?" I figure if she wanted to know his name she won't be calling him "Dinner".

I took a closer look at the picture of her girls and realized why she was so excited. It appears that at least 5 of her girls are aussies! No wonder she was so thrilled to find a good, non-hatchery, roo so close to home! More than one little prayer may have gotten answered

.

So, not only does it look like I found a good home for my crazy roo, it means I will have room to keep at least one more of the new Aussie baby girls arriving next month!!!
(ok, cue up the Lion King music) got to love THE CIRCLE OF LIFE!!!

That's great news!!

Alaskan, what happened????

It snowed, then snowed, then RAINED, then snowed, and it looks like it is going to snow again.

Remember how I had spring last week? Well, now I have ice, with two feet of snow on top.

At least the snow berms are now high enough that when I slide all the way down the driveway, there is only a very low risk of rolling down the mountain.

Oh, and a coyote just sniffed around all of my poultry housing, in broad daylight.

Again, :th
