Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I have roasted in a popcorn popper. It takes about 4 minutes to roast a batch, but you cannot roast a lot of beans in a pop corn popper. The Gene cafe at the temperature setting I am using takes about 16 minutes.

Yes, the darker the roast, the more the sugar flavors come out. lighter roasts are usually more fruity or citrus tasting. This roast is not very dark because the oils are not coming out of the beans yet. Sweet Marias will let you know how dark you can roast the beans. Not many coffee beans can take an espresso roast.

Sumatra Mandheling has earthy flavors and sometimes tastes smokey. I like it but it is not my favorite.

I must say your set up is great.. One of our Arizona neighbors @maddbaggins brews beer, now we are thinking of doing it. I think we found all the equipment we need from a friend.. He would show us his weekly brew... Yum

I'm on a computer, but even on my phone, the way I quote several ppl in the same reply is to touch quote and type my response, then I enter down a few lines and scroll back up to read and just touch quote on the next entry I want to answer, type more, repeat; when I've answered what I want to on that page, I touch (or click on my computer) submit (or whatever it is on the mobile site).

TeaChick my BF puts organic grass fed butter in his coffee along with organic sugar and milk. Anyone else hear or do that?

I just read about putting coconut oil and organic butter in coffee; the guys of "Versatile Health" call it Bulletproof Coffee.  I'll see if I can find a link for it and edit it in here.

Here you go:

and I think it should even be click-y. =)

Tried the coconut oil, however it just floats to the top.. Not mixed enough for me.. We add to oatmeal now, or cook with it..

Ooooo, I've just discovered this thread! Coffee is the only thing that keeps me sane with three children 5 years old and under. Filling up my French press is the highlight of my morning.

Coffee all day, erryday.

I was day dreaming before I realized I poured the maple syrup into the French press.. Agh, now I am semi awake..
Notice I had to edit.. :th

:lau uh, I mean :hugs never fun. What commercial was it, that had all of these tired adults in it (maybe for a mattress) and the one parent pours coffee into his kids cereal bowl! :lau lots of fun

At that age....uh.... Well, nope, there is no hope. :D Unless your 5 yr old still naps....then there is the joy of nap-time, during which you really gotta nap too.

My youngest just turned 6..... We, the parents, now get to sleep....

Welcome to BYC and the Coffee Lovers Thread Bunny. Bunny The Slayer, is that like the rabbit that attacked Jimmy Carter?

I LOOOOOOOOOVE COFFEE!

I live in Texas, the heavenly land of HEB grocery stores. Their store brand (Cafe Ole!) coffee is great, and they have a "Houston Blend" which is magnifique!!

If I can't have that, I like most Sumatra grinds or Breakfast Blends.

I enjoy my coffee with a pinch of stevia and tbsp of half & half.
