Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

so I'm new and been reading over this thread....I was wondering if I was the only one WO had their coffee with the chickens. My Dom starts in about 4:45 t 5:00 every morning. Gets me up to start the coffee and then I take it out with the treats and that's about the only quiet hour I get. 3 of the four grown kids are back. I can't wait till they get apartments.

Welcome!!!

@TeaChick your post made me tired.

@Puddin Fluff yep, the fireweed is going full bloom in town....at my house it is starting, but the rises are full on and smell magnificent.

ACK!!!!! I am now late...gotta run!

Sorry. =D

Ditto with Alaskan @TeaChick .

If you still have fireweed you don't have snow!

I loved to watch it work it's way up anticipating snowfall.

Sorry.

This is my life. =)

I am quite sure that when my mother passes and they autopsy her, coffee will flw from her veins instead of blood. She drinks it 24/7. I am not quite to that point yet. :D :D

My mom's like that!  She drinks it all times of the day and night, and then sleeps, and then starts all over again.  IDK how she does it.

Drinking an icecap.

How is everyone? Enjoying the summer?

This isn't the icecap lovers thread!!!  < 0,0 >

It has loads of coffee in it....... Your right, I should stick to more pure coffee. ;)

Tea sounds so much better. And I just picked up some clover honey with the comb in it. Great time to break it open.

I'm from Fla, so I'm super spoiled; I only really use either Orange Blossom honey or organic. I've tried to use clover honey, but it just doesn't taste like honey to me.

I like Twinings tea. What kind do you drink? (also, there's a tea drinkers' thread; I can give you the link if you want to touch base there too). =)

Does anyone have strange things their chickens do? I just had to spend a half hour getting my kids in the coop. Wind gusts up here are getting 70 miles an hour with a massive dust storm warning and guess what my kids are doing???? They are playing in their yard. If its hot outside they go in the coop if its stormy they stay outside. Now I need coffee to warm up. Its wet out there.

Mine like being out in the rain too.

thanks to all who mentioned processing some of their birds, you reminded me to go out tonight and catch the three I am doing in the Monday morning chores.
no coffee this evening, at least two cups before chores in the morning.

I finished processing on Friday!!! =D
Also, I got the first egg of my second generation of pullets (AKA "the little girls").

Sounds like your day has gone to the dogs.

my fruit trees need to grow faster!

A few of my raised beds.... Hubby calls it a tomato jungle. The plants are so cute and small when they go in and the they GROW!

Welcome!!! =D
My thumb is kind of brownish; my DD, both of hers are green though! Guess who works with the garden....=D

three cockerels in the "frig"

too hot for a third cup of coffee, maybe after my nap this afternoon.

An afternoon nap sounds soooooooooo good right now!!!
We had to take down a tree in our backyard this afternoon. I'm "bushed".

I have lost track of the dead and near dead trees, elm, oak and black walnut......enough firewood for three or four winters....I will wait until after the first frost and the ticks are sleeping to begin this years cutting...the ash trees still look healthy but there is a pest that kills those "on the way".

Which knife did you buy for your processing?

I'm much more of a coffee drinker, just drink celestial seasonings camomile tea at night so I can sleep... coffee bad for me at night.

Mine like being out in the rain too.

In my house it wouldn't be right if the animals didn't all have issues. I have a Pomeranian named Princess that I believe is ocd. :0
