Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

i have 4welsummers, 2 andalusians and 3 buff orps. I am excited about the wellies as i have waited over a year to get some of her eggs pure from my welsummer rooster. And it finaly happened!

What breeds are you hatching?

The little guys are going to be mutts. My game hen went broody (first time with a broody hen) so I let her keep three of her eggs and gave her three from my RIR. The rooster dad is a sweet dark red naked neck so I'm thinking color-wise, they should be pretty and have a good temperament.

I hope you will share pics. Your hen is pretty.

LOL she looks so much better in the picture. Igor tried to turn her into a naked neck when he was mating her so up close she looks like she has mange

And yes, I will share pictures.... Have to because this is too exciting to keep to myself :) Please share pictures of little guys as well!

Hagar3- that is another reason we live in the north!

Thank you all for the prayers and good wishes. The tornado touched down quite a way to our south. All we got was a lot of and a LOT of rain.

I could barely stay awake the last two days thanks to the new drug, but I finally adjusted to it and DH and I went (he wouldn't let me go alone - such a mother hen!) to a flea market at the county seat this morning. Not too many vendors showed up because there was still rain in the area but luck would have it, I still found what I was looking for which was 2 half gallon antique blue canning jars to complete the canister set for my kitchen. All the jars, from pint to the big ones aren't that old, they are all 1915 to 1923 (except one is an 1886) but a couple are a bit rarer. I don't use my real collector ones. I just show them off

I made a real score when I found the zinc rings to go with my glass antique caps and the rubber rings for my lightening tops as well as 4 more zinc full tops and the guy gave me the whole batch for $2! It really does pay to flea market in the rain

ll Thank you The jars sound a great find Its funny lots of friends and relatives have visited various places in America. Florida, Las Vegas Arizona and other places I've never been tempted until I found out about yard sales! I buy a lot of vintage christmas decorations from the states and I'd love to go and do a few 100 yard sales My idea of heaven( who needs the strip or Disney world or palm beach :p)

got most of em.... LOL.  That Peachtree road sounds soo familiar....

Oh I remember  I got lost in Salt Lake city once.   The roads are named according to their orientation to the Temple... North Temple, South Temple, East Temple, West Temple....  So then there is North Temple East North temple west.... Then there is South temple East, South temple West...  Then East Temple North and East Temple south...  And West temple North and West Temple South.

My head was hurting when we found our hotel.  A little bit of outa towner explanation would have helped.....:gig :lau

deb

Deb, I have driven in Salt Lake City. Those street names are confusing.

They have an annual Peaches to Beaches yard sale from Fort Valley Ga , Peach County, to Brunswick on the coast. It is a three hour drive if you don't stop for yard sales.

@Hagar3
:gig been to Atlanta. Love it! Just not in the summer.Drove through Atlanta. Loved it! It was a Sunday mornining 6 am in early June. Not too hot, Not to cold, Just right. I grew up thinking that " pawntz duh LEE-awn." was THE Correct spelling!.

You cheated. There isn't much traffic on the road at 6 o'clock Sunday morning. Some of the best memories of my life are from '69 and '70 when I was young and single.

Hagar3,

:thumbsup
We lived in Newnan and my daughter was born in Riverdale.  That is so right on!

Who is Dude and why is he in timeout?

I was just joking about the Dude's recent time in the penalty box.

I lived at the intersection of Riverdale road and I 285 in 69 and 70. I worked at Lockheed in Marietta.
