"Yes dear" is a great phrase! It shows the proper amount of Subservience and pays homage all at the same time. I use it often!!
Exactly - which is why I use it with the cats, and the mule, and even my car ("ding, ding, ding, don't leave the key in the ignition, dingbat!")

Yes, dear.

I don't have time to really catch up. I just touched on a few things on the first page of unread posts.
I'm sorry.

I'm super busy with school and chickens and children and...life, I guess.
Anyway, I need some chicken advice.
DD has a small (mascot) flock of Cochin Bantams. One has been hanging out under the shed and the back porch and she's been moving around really slowly. We put her in the brooder yesterday and put a little sugar and ACV in her water and some wet feed. When we put her flock mates in there with her last night, she did eat with them. Oh, we also gave her some egg (with garlic and oregano and coconut oil). I think I'm going to start serving those things separately.
I'm going to drain some kefir today, so I'll have whey to give her.
She seemed better this morning than she was yesterday morning, so we set her under the porch where she would feel safe, but so she'd be able to be with her flock. DD will go out and give her water (w/ sugar and ACV) and try to get her to eat something.
DD is really worried about her, so I told her I would find out if anyone here knew anything or could offer any advice or suggestions, etc.
Oh, and her poo is creamy yellow.

Cochins are notorious for going broody.... could it be possible shes scouting out a broody spot? Believe it or not I have never had a sick chicken so I cant help with anything else.

I just added 14 Red Jungle Fowl eggs to the 6 American Jungle Fowl I already put in it the other day. I am hoping for a great hatch!

This guy laid all the eggs on their side but I know he had been collecting them since last Friday so I wanted to get them in the bator ASAP.
