I may never go to sleep tonight! I decided after a fried chicken dinner we needed something sweet. So I made a coffee cake. Then I thought what goes with coffee cake.... Well coffee of course! So now it's fricken midnight, I'm eating another piece of cake and on my 4th cup of coffee tonight!

Yup, I wouldn't sleep either.

My Girls are getting back to laying too. Last Saturday I collected one egg. Yesterday I collected 8.

Still not good for 30 hens....

I guess I shouldn't be complaining about 3 out of 8. My biggest problem is them laying in the woods, or at least making me think they are. IDK. Minions #1 and 2 are going into the woods searching for nests in a shack on the next property (the owners don't care). I'm not able to fight with the can't-hardly-walk of the woods anymore.

Sorry I have been missing all the action lately. I am waiting for an appt. with an RA clinic to see what they can do for me.
And I have hired a lady to come in and help me a bit here and there till I can get better off.

I had a bad hatch out of 12 eggs I put in the bator only 4 hatched one Red Jungle Fowl and 3 Chantecler chicks.

I guess I will have to try to get a few more RJF to try another hatch.

Sitting here with my coffee looking at the smoke rising slowly behind my coop.
It looks like it's on fire but it's really just my neighbor burning something for three days now!
His fire pit is directly in line with my coop and creates the illusion that smoke is coming out of the roof. LoL
I think I am surrounded by pyromaniacs my neighbor on the left has been burning too.
If the one on the right starts to burn I'm getting the hose out thank God there's no wind I have my sliders open and wouldn't be happy with a house filled with smoke ):LoL
I have a Big pile of stuff to burn but haven't had the nerve to I'm afraid I'll set the woods on fire!
Looks like it's going to be just another Sunny day here in north central Florida. Enjoy your coffee.

Ppl around here burn their woods on purpose.

It's not really that big a deal, they call the forestry dept and fire dept to find out whether it's okay, how high the risk of wildfire is, etc.
When we burn in front of the shed, it sounds like the crackling is coming from my coop or the woods behind my coop, but the smoke comes from the opposite direction. whew.

We are having a nice sunny Sunday up here in the frozen north as well however it is a crispy 24o F again. Supposed to warm up a bit later in the week and might even hit the mid 50's by the weekend, most likely for the last time this year, sigh.

@Chickadoodle s - sorry about your hatch. I am still envious tho of the chantecleers.
Did you find anything out on RA? A little prayer they can do something positive for your symptoms

Still sitting here in the recliner with my ankle that is supposed to be on a nice fluffy pillow but has been crowded off by a puppy that has convinced herself that I started putting the pillow on the raised footrest to my chair just so she would have this very comfy place for her morning nap.

Sounds like my life many mistakes were and are still being made.LoL
